What Does AUGUST have to do with your health?
You’re probably thinking, “Hmmm, I have absolutely no idea what August has to do with my health” …. “Can ya give me a hint puhlease or at least three letters so I can start guessing?”
🙂
Well, first of all…can you believe that it’s almost September?! Time feels like it just never stops, doesn’t it? So, does that make you excited or sad that summer is coming to a close soon?
Even though a new month is right around the corner (which I love by the way, as new months bring beautiful new beginnings….!), I wanted to help you find a way to make the most out of August.
Have you heard the phrase, “Health is Wealth?”
There is so much truth to that phrase where everyday we are blessed to make personal choices that are beneficial to our health. Whether this is through exercising or food choices, we are fortunate to 1.) have the internet as a super awesome research tool at the tips of our fingers, 2.) have more and more fresh “health-ful” food choices available at restaurants and markets, and 3.) have the luxury of finding what works best for us individually and for our bodies.
So, how does “Health is Wealth” tie into “August?”
When it comes to our health, most of the time we just need a plan to help us stay accountable and committed.
Today, I am going to break it down by giving you 3 words to help you remember August. Then part two comes on Thursday with the other 3 words.
Your homework (tonight) is to put these into practice then build upon what we discuss on Thursday ….thus creating a HEALTHY AUGUST! 🙂 But, the bigger reason for these 6 steps is to help you implement a bulletproof plan that not only helps you TODAY, but will be reflected upon your health in the future. Choices you make now will have a greater impact on years to come.
Ok, grab your note pad!
A Action: Write down the phrase, “Start before you are ready.” Often times, we postpone things or put things off until tomorrow because we feel we’re not equipped for it today. Especially when it comes to our health, action is key. You’ll be surprised at the way things fall into place, habits are made, and how your’e feeling awesome before you know it….all you have to do is take ACTION. Write down the one thing you are dragging your feet on….next to it, write one tiny actionable item that will help you get started.
U Understanding: Our bodies are skillfully and wonderfully made. The beauty in this is that every single one of us is different. That is why some people can tolerate foods others can’t and why we need to learn the importance of understanding OUR body and what OUR body needs. Maybe you get chronic headaches or have food sensitivities, or have 5 stubborn pounds you wish would disappear….the truth is within you. Start to read into signs and symptoms and learn to understand what works for you and what doesn’t work. What is one thing you would like to understand more?
G Gratitude: Ahhh, the magic word! Oh, how gratitude changes things! When we turn our focus off of our limiting factors where instead we turn it into joy, even joy in the smallest thing, we have already begun the first part of the journey. Digestion improves by saying grace before a meal for this nourishing food, or when we turn our gratefulness into having already lost 2 pounds even though our goal was 10. Celebrate the small triumphs.
………….Ok, now you’re in the driver’s seat. Where are you headed?
See you Thursday!
